Cataloguing a box of estate maps
A local heritage society asked us to look at a box of hand-drawn estate maps from the early nineteenth century. Over three visits we recorded forty-two sheets, identified the surveyor on most of them from signatures and handwriting, and matched several to parishes that no longer exist under the same name.
