About

The Meridian Map Archive is a volunteer project that catalogues and describes historical maps, survey sheets and harbour charts held in small private and municipal collections.

Many of these documents have never been listed anywhere. Our volunteers visit collections, record the basic facts about each sheet, and publish short catalogue entries so that researchers know the maps exist and where to ask about them.

The archive is not a digital library. We do not host scans; we describe what exists and point to the collections that hold it.
